Inn at Crossings Wins Interior Design Award

The Holiday Inn at the Crossings in Warwick has been named the winner of the Holiday Inns, Inc., outstanding New Development Award For 1988. The New Development Award, given annually for excellence in architectural and interior design, was presented to Dennis DeSilva the hotel’s general manager during a ceremony at the Oct. 24-28 Holiday Inn System Conference in Seattle. The hotel, which opened in Aug. 1987, Is owned by the Carpionato Corporation of Johnston. The interior designer was Olivia Neece of Tarzana, Calif. Neece is also doing the interior design work on the hotel’s 106-room addition, which will   open later this year, and the 2000-seat conference center scheduled to open in 1989 “The Carpionato Corp has built a stunning new property that we are proud to have as part of our system,” said Kenneth B, Hamlet President and C.E.O. of Holiday Inns, Inc. A trophy commemorating the award will be on, permanent display at the hotel. “I’m very pleased with the award”, said Alfred Carpianato, president of the Carpionato Corp., “primarily because it is another Indication of our commitment to being the best possible hotel to the Warwick area. I hope the community is as proud as we are.”
